With four of the six playoff games done and dusted in both the Championship and European groups, Mark McKenzie and Genk blew the chance to put pressure on the group leaders after a Sam Vines-less Royal Antwerp were beaten by Club Brugge.
After hitting the playoffs halfway mark, the title is still wide open, though Antwerp has taken over the top spot in Pro League action.
Mark McKenzie’s goal for Genk wasn’t enough to keep them from slipping out of the Belgian Pro League top spot after a loss to Antwerp, while Marlon Fossey and Standard Liege saw their chance for European qualification take a major hit in their home loss to Gent.
Both the Belgian Championship and Conference League Play-Offs got underway this weekend as well as the Belgian Cup final.
