Three of the four USMNT Premier League regulars saw the field this weekend, and two of them finally had something to celebrate. Tyler Adams helped Bournemouth pick up their first league win of the season, while Antonee Robinson and Fulham did the same a day earlier. That, and more, below.
Fulham 1 – 0 Hull City
Antonee Robinson started at left back and went the full 90 as Fulham finally got off the mark in the Premier League with a 1-0 win over Hull City. Alex Iwobi scored the only goal of the match in the 33rd minute, finishing from the edge of the box after Sander Berge picked him out.
Fulham made life a little harder on themselves late when Ryan Sessegnon was shown a red card in the 90+4th minute, but the home side held on for their first league win of the season. Robinson helped Fulham keep their first Premier League clean sheet of the campaign as the Cottagers climb to 17th. They travel to Coventry City next Saturday.
AFC Bournemouth 2 – 0 Sunderland
Tyler Adams started in midfield as Bournemouth finally picked up their first Premier League win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland. Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring in the sixth minute after Evanilson picked him out, before Sunderland defender Kevin Danso was sent off in the 17th minute for bringing Evanilson down as the last man.
Bournemouth took advantage after the break, with Evanilson making it 2-0 in the 48th minute after pouncing on a poor backpass. Adams went 89 minutes before making way for Bafodé Diakité as the Cherries saw out the win. Bournemouth move up to 15th in the Premier League and host AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday before traveling to Manchester United next Sunday.
Brighton & Hove Albion 5 – 0 Crystal Palace
Chris Richards started and went the full 90 as Crystal Palace endured a miserable afternoon against rivals Brighton. Jaydee Canvot turned the ball into his own net in the fourth minute before Diego Gómez scored from just inside the halfway line three minutes later. Yasin Ayari made it 3-0 in the 10th minute as Palace were blown away almost immediately.
Things did not get any better after the break. Charalampos Kostoulas added a fourth in the 49th minute before Jack Hinshelwood finished the rout in the 84th. Richards was part of a Palace back line that conceded five for the first time this season, as the Eagles dropped to 14th in the Premier League. Palace travel to Beşiktaş in the Europa League on Thursday before hosting Newcastle United next Sunday.
Notes
Brenden Aaronson was named to the Leeds United bench for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United but did not enter the match. Leeds sits seventh in the Premier League and travel to Sunderland next Sunday.
Zavier Gozo was not included in Crystal Palace’s matchday squad against Brighton.
Gabriel Slonina did not make Chelsea’s matchday squad for Saturday’s 2-0 win at Everton. Mike Penders was the goalkeeper on the bench and replaced Emiliano Martínez in the 70th minute.
Haji Wright remains sidelined for Coventry City and will not feature against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday. Frank Lampard said earlier this month that November is the earliest realistic return for the American striker as he continues to recover from his quad injury.
