Yunus Musah and Christian Pulisic were in action on Sunday as AC Milan held on to a win over Atalanta to keep its unbeaten record going.
Milan 3-2 Atalanta
Milan moved up to fourth place in the Serie A standings as they were able to hold off a late comeback from Atalanta to secure the win at the San Siro.
Yunus Musah played 75 minutes as he completed 98 percent passing, won four duels, and made four defensive contributions. Christian Pulisic also played 75 minutes to complete 86 percent of his passes.
The hosts got an opportunity to open the scoring after 20 minutes when Musah took a crack at goal. However, there was an appeal for a handball. The video assistant referee confirmed that an Atalanta defender did make contact with the ball. Goncalo Ramos went to convert the spot kick.
Milan doubled its lead before halftime when Adrien Rabiot scored with a right-footed shot in the 18-yard box.
The Rossoneri kept the momentum going in the second half and were rewarded with a third goal in the 58th minute. Mario Gila was on the spot to head in a flick-on from Rabiot.
All seemed comfortable for Milan, but Atalanta cut the deficit in the 66th minute when Gianluca Gaetano scored from the six-yard box. Things got even more tense when they scored a second in the 81st minute when Nikola Krstovic steered in a low cross.
It was close, but Milan survived the scare at the end.
It’s back to Europa League action on Thursday as Milan head to England to face Bournemouth.
