French Ligue 1 side Marseille has expressed concern over the injury to winger Tim Weah, adding that its extent could be “very bad news”.
The 25-year-old, who is currently on loan with the team from Juventus, started in the OM’s 2-1 defeat to Lens over the weekend. He assisted on a goal from Mason Greenwood in the 17th minute of the contest.
However, Weah was subbed out of the game in the 52nd minute as it appeared that he had hurt his left thigh.
Following the game, Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi said the injury could be minor, but “it would be very bad news for us if he really hurt himself.”
The New York-born winger has been an important player for the Mediterranean team this season. So far, he has played 12 games in all competitions.
