The United States men’s national team’s performance at the recently concluded World Cup has seen them move up to 16th place in the FIFA rankings.
The news, which came out on Monday, saw the Americans sit in 17th place prior to the tournament. However, after a 12th place finish, it moved them up one spot.
The team lead by head coach Mauricio Pochettino topped Group D with wins over Paraguay and Australia, with a defeat to Turkiye. They then knocked off Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32 before making their exit with a loss to Belgium.
Despite the move up in the rankings, the U.S. remains number two among CONCACAF teams, as Mexico landed at 10th spot. Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, and Honduras followed to round out the top six in the region.
