English Premier League Weekend Recap: Aaronson Scores as Leeds United Triumph

Brenden Aaronson carried the flag for Yanks in the Premier League with a goal to help Leeds United win.

Leeds 2 – 1 West Ham

Brenden Aaronson got the opening goal in a thrilling game at Elland Road that saw the home team squeak by with all three points.

Aaronson opened the scoring in the 3rd minute after helping in the build up. After spraying the ball wide the American winger got into the box and was on hand to dispatch a scrappy opening goal.

Joe Rodon doubled the lead in the 15th minute as he smashed a header into the far post. West Ham got one back in the 90th minute through Mateus Fernandes after a delicious ball in from Jarrod Bowen. 

The win takes Leeds up to 15th place and take on Brighton next weekend.

Bournemouth 2 – 0 Nottingham Forest

Tyler Adams started and notched an assist in Bournemouth’s comfortable win over spiraling Nottingham Forest. 

Captain Marcus Tavernier sent the home crowd into a frenzy after whipping in the opening goal after 25 minutes, straight from a corner kick. The fabled “olimpico” even had the players ecstatic.

The second goal came in the 40th minute after Adams intercepted possession in the midfield. His “assist” ended with him being tugged to the ground, but the ball fell to Eli Junior Kroupi who dribbled the rest of the field and smashed home the insurance goal.

Bournemouth now sit in 2nd place in the Premier League and take on Manchester City next weekend.

Arsenal 1 – 0 Crystal Palace 

Chris Richards started and went the distance for Crystal Palace in their narrow defeat to Arsenal. 

Eberichi Eze was destined to be the man of the moment, scoring in the 39th minute to win the game.

Crystal Palace sit in 10th place and take on Liverpool in the League Cup on Wednesday.
