Tim Ream will play a tenth season for Fulham as it was announced on Friday that the center-back has signed a contract extension through the 2024-2025 season.
The 36-year-old made the move to West London in the 2015-2016 season from Bolton Wanderers. Since that time, he has gone on to play in 300 games for the Cottagers, the first player to accomplish the feat in 26 years. He’s also helped the team earn three promotions to the Premier League.
“It’s nice to get this done. To be somewhere for as long as I have, it takes a lot of hard work,” Ream said in a statement on the Fulham website.
“To be able to say you are looking at being at a place like this for ten years is not something that happens very often these days. To be someone who has that opportunity is a great feeling. It fills me with pride to continue to adapt, to continue this rollercoaster that is football.”
The signing of the extension also means that the St. Louis native will enter his 10th season with the team, an achievement that not many players can say they have reached.
“Tim Ream embodies what Fulham stands for, and I am delighted that with this new contract, he will reach a decade with the Club in 2025,” said Fulham’s chief football strategy officer Tony Khan.
“He is a huge character on the pitch and in the dressing room and a very important part of Marco [Silva]’s squad. Mr. Ream is a great favorite amongst our fans too.”
