It was a crazy weekend in the Premier League for our Yanks Abroad, with five players starting. Luca Koleosho finally opened his account for Burnley while Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson narrowly lost at Anfield. That, and more, in the recaps below.
Liverpool 4 – 3 Fulham
Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson went the distance in a frustrating away loss to Liverpool.
Bernd Leno spent several minutes on the ground receiving medical treatment for a head injury. Things went from bad to worse for the goalkeeper who was credited with an own goal after a Trent Alexander-Arnold free kick bounced off the crossbar and off of his back and in.
Robinson helped get Fulham back in the game after a quality ball from the left flank for Harry Wilson to thump home in the 24th minute. Liverpool however got a second goal after a careless giveaway in the middle of the park for Alexis Mac Allister to score a screamer from distance in the 38th minute. Kenny Tete clawed Fulham back into the game on the stroke of halftime, a flick-on that was initially ruled offside only for VAR to overturn. Ream scored a great goal, but it was ruled offside at the halftime whistle.
Bobby Decordova-Reid thought he scored the game-winner in the 80th minute, leading for the first time. His ball across fell to Willian, and after some interplay, the ball ended up back at his head on the back post.
Wataru Endo slammed home the equalizer in the 87th minute with the inside of his foot to the top corner. Alexander-Arnold finally got his goal just a minute later after a ferocious attack from Liverpool. The English defender smashed his shot home from distance to send Anfield into chaos.
Fulham, now only with one win in the last six, sit 14th in the table. Up next, is a visit from Nottingham Forest in a must-win game.

Burnley 5 – 0 Sheffield United
Luca Koleosho went 75 minutes in Burnley’s thumping win over Auston Trusty’s Sheffield United in a relegation six-pointer, that included a goal for the American!
Jay Rodriguez scored within the first 16 seconds, a quick attack down the left flank resulting in a ball whipped in for the forward’s header home.
Jacob Bruun Larsen scored in the 29th after breaking a high line, his first touch taking him straight at goal for a cool left-footed finish. The game was turned on its head as Ollie McBurnie had back-to-back fouls leading with his elbow into the face of his opponent.
The game was back and forth until Mohammed Amdouni found the killer goal in the 73rd minute, taking a headed pass off of his chest before breaking into the box to slot home. Koleosho had back-to-back chances, his first rattling off the left post of the Sheffield goal on an otherwise empty net.
The American-born player made no mistake in the next phase, sizing the goalkeeper up and catching him out at the near post with a quality finish. The goal was his first for Burnley, to help cement Burnley’s first home win of the season. The game was put to bed in the 80th minute by Josh Brownhill, a thunderous strike from distance.
Burnley creeps closer to 17th-placed Luton Town with 7 points, two adrift from relative safety. Sheffield United is rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table. Burnley face Wolves on Tuesday, while Sheffield play host to Liverpool.
