Christian Pulisic made his first start of the Serie A season and scored a goal to help AC Milan to a win over Lecce, while Weston McKennie was in action for Juventus as they beat Atalanta.
Milan 3-0 Lecce
Milan put a stop to their winless run as they came away with a comfortable win over Lecce at the San Siro.
Christian Pulisic made his first start to play 69 minutes as he took two shots and made two key passes. Yunus Musah came off the bench to play 14 minutes.
The hosts opened the scoring 14 minutes into the contest when Strahinja Pavlovic’s over-the-top pass saw Pulisic make excellent control of the ball and put his left-footed shot into the back of the net.
Milan had control for the majority of the game and finally doubled their lead in the 61st minute. The game was put to bed with a third goal in 73rd minute.
The Rossoneri sits in fifth place in the standings with 11 points. They will next face Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore on October 11.
Juventus 2-0 Atalanta
Juventus head into the international break positively as they secured a win over Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium.
Weston McKennie started and played 86 minutes as he completed 85 percent passing, made four defensive contributions, and took one shot.
The Bianconeri scored their first of the game in the 28th minute when Francisco Conceicao was left unmarked in the 18-yard box to sweep the ball into the goal.
They went on to double the lead in the 77th minute when Bremen rose up to head in a corner kick.
Juventus sits in seventh place with 10 points. They will head to Sardinia to face Cagliari after the break.
