Aaronson pens new deal

USMNT player Brenden Aaronson pens a new three-year deal commiting his future until 2029 to Leeds United.

Brenden Aaronson signs three-year contract extension with Leeds United

American winger Brenden Aaronson has extended his contract with Leeds United, seeing him on the books until 2029.

Aaronson had a dismal World Cup display, but has impressed during the last Premier League outing for the Whites. Ellan Road marked a memorable goal for Aaronson last season against Manchester United, with a total of four goals under his belt. With 30 starts and 37 Premier League appearances, a new contract looked likely. However, that wasn’t always the case.

Having been relegated with Leeds and loaned out to Union Berlin, the story could have gone a completely different way. In typical American tenacity, once given his shot back at the Leeds line-up, he never looked back. He played a large role in their promotion back to the Premier League, and played in all but one game in the Premier League last season.

Nearly 2,500 minutes played last year in the Premier League did not measure up to his 76 minutes under USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino. Aaronson, however, will be looking to continue growing for both Leeds United and the USMNT in the 2026/2027 season.
