Folarin Balogun extended his league goal scoring streak for the eighth time as he converted a spot kick in Monaco’s tie with Auxerre.

Monaco kept themselves in contention for a Champions League spot as they came back to save a point against Auxerre at Stade Louis in the Principality.
Folarin Balogun started and played 88 minutes for Les Rouge et Blanc, putting three shots on target and winning two duels.
The hosts found themselves in a hole in the first half, as goals from Kevin Danois and Lassine Sinayoko gave Auxerre the advantage.
However, Ansu Fati cut the deficit in the 56th minute when he struck from just outside the penalty area. Monaco was given an opportunity to level the score seconds later when the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty. Balogun ran onto a through ball from Maghnes Akliouche, but was taken down by Auxerre’s goalkeeper Donovan Leon. The American forward stepped up to put away the penalty in the 59th minute.
Monaco sits in seventh place in the standings with 50 points, four points behind both Lille and Lyon for a Champions League spot.

Elsewhere in Ligue 1, Tanner Tessmann came off the bench to play 10-plus minutes for Lyon in their 2-1 win over league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Tim Weah came on to play the entire second half for Marseille, as it was shutout in a 2-0 defeat to Lorient.
Mark McKenzie served a red card suspension, as Toulouse fell in a 3-2 defeats to Lens.
Luca Koleosho started and was subbed out with an injury after 88 minutes in Paris FC’s 3-1 win over Metz.
