Dutch Recap: Pepi Scores as PSV Three-Peats

0 minutes, 48 seconds Read

Sparta 0 – 2 PSV

It was already job done when the Farmers headed to nearby Rotterdam to take on Sparta and as usual, they came away with the win, beating the hosts with goals on both sides of the intermission.

PSV were already celebrating a close-range goal in the third minute but VAR confirmed that an Eindhoven hand touched the ball and it was erased from the score board. Ricardo Pepi, who was in the starting line-up, almost broke the deadlock in the 31st minute but his close-range effort went wide. A minute into first half stoppage time however, the American was celebrating when Guus Til centered the ball into the box and Pepi ran onto it and headed it into the back of the net.

Ismael Saibari was played through in the 80th minute and lifted the ball over the keeper from inside the box to put the game to bed.

Not that it matters but PSV will host Zwolle over the weekend.
