Tyler Adams was back in a starting position while Chris Richards and Brendan Aaronson faced narrow defeats.
Leeds 0 – 1 Manchester City
Brendan Aaronson was the first sub taken off for Leeds United in their narrow defeat to Manchester City.
Aaronson had an incredible early run and cross to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but the front man put his shot wide. He also had a fun skill run and nutmeg pass that ended in a shot. Aaronson had a chance in the 20th minute to score but his shot went wide. That was nothing compared to his late second half chance when he went one on one with the City goalkeeper, only to be denied.
Antoine Semenyo scored on the stroke of half time to punish Leeds for their missed chances. A simple ball across the six yard box was turned into a nearly empty net.
Aaronson gave way in the 65th minute, but the substitutes couldn’t impact the game enough to get a point at home.
Leeds are in 15th place, six points above 18th place West Ham United. Up next, a Tuesday bout against Sunderland.
