English Premier League Recap: Adams injured as Robinson starts

1 minute, 49 seconds Read

Bournemouth’s Tyler Adams was forced off with a knee injury just five minutes into Monday’s fixture against Manchester United, while Antonee Robinson started for Fulham for the first time since May.

Burnley 2 – 3 Fulham

Antonee Robinson was back in the starting lineup for Fulham in their convincing road win over Burnley.

The start marks the left-back’s first since May, a sight many USMNT fans will be pleased to see. The visitors got the scoring started just nine minutes into the first half as Burnley turned off during a corner kick, and Emile Smith-Rowe scored an easy tap-in.

Chimuanya Ugochukwu scored a comfortable goal to get Burnley back in the game in the 21st minute, but Calvin Bassey scored 10 minutes later. Robinson chipped a ball in for the on-running Harry Wilson, who clipped it up for Bassey to head home.

Harry Wilson added an insurance goal with a clever far-post finish, which sealed the win. Oliver Sonne got a goal back for Burnley in the 86th minute, but it was too little, too late.

Up next for Fulham, who are now in 13th, is a game against Newcastle on Wednesday.

Crystal Palace 0 – 3 Man City

Chris Richards and co will be in dismay after losing heavily at home.

For all intents and purposes, Palace felt like they had a chance for most of the match. Erling Haaland scored a 41st-minute goal to give the visitors a needed lead, but Palace never let off the gas.

However, the prowess of City on the counter proved too much for the home side, conceding twice more. One through Phil Foden in the 69th minute and another counter ending in a penalty kick dispatched by Haaland in the 89th minute.

The loss sees Palace in fifth place, and play KuPS Kuopio on Thursday in Europe before taking on Leeds next Saturday.
