After leaving France for Italy when Juventus bought the winger from Lille OSC in 2023, Tim Weah is heading back to France as Olympique Marseille have struck a loan deal with the Italian side with an obligation to buy after the loan period ends.
The deal was done on Wednesday with the reason being that the 44-times capped American international had been too inconsistent, having scored just seven times in 78 appearances for the Italian giants with six of those goals coming during last season.
Prior to his move to Italy, the New Yorker spent time with PSG and Lille, winning the Ligue 1 title twice with the Parisians and another with the Dogues. He also has three Nations League trophies with the USMNT.
Weah will hope to immediately break into the starting lineup with Les Olympiens with the season starting with a trip to take on Stade Rennais on the 15th of August. Tonight however, the French side will be hosting Aston Villa for a friendly game.
