English Premier League Recap: Reyna Provides an Assist but Forest Still Drop Points

A Reyna assist wasn’t enough to give Forest three points while Robinson and Fulham got the better of their London rivals.

Nottingham Forest 2 – 2 Wolverhampton

Forest couldn’t hold onto their lead, so ended up sharing the points with Wolves over the weekend. Gio Reyna started for the home team and was on hand to provide the assist to Morgan Gibbs-White first half stoppage time strike. The American put in a 71 minute shift, while Matt Turner stayed rooted to the bench.

Gibb-White’s goal was registered at the 46′ mark and it came just in the nick of time after Matheus Cunha put Wolves ahead five minutes earlier.

A dozen minutes after the re-start Danilo gave Forest their first lead of the game but they could only hold onto it for five minutes because Cunha was at it again, completing his brace.

The American duo will head to Liverpool next to take on Everton, who are also looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone after their points deduction.

West Ham United 0 – 2 Fulham

Antonee Robinson was in the starting line-up for Fulham as they travelled through London to take on WHU in one of their many derbies. An Andreas Pereira brace was enough for the Cottagers to claim all of the points and move u to 12th place.

They’ll certainly have a tough time their next time out when title contenders, Liverpool come to Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

Brentford 2 – 0 Sheffield United

Bottom of the league Sheffield, in desperate need of points, just could not find the back of the Brentford net on Saturday afternoon and at the same time surrendered a pair of goals, with own being an OG by Oliver Arblaster half way through the second half. Frank Onyeka made sure late on as he bagged his first of the season in stoppage time. Austin Trusty went the distance.

Not yet mathematically relegated to the Championship, United are in dire need of points and will look to take some when they face 19th place Burnley.

Notes

Chris Richards is still sidelined, so missed Crystal Palace’s shock 1-0 win over Liverpool.
