Having played a full season on loan for Westerlo in 2022-2023, the Belgian Pro League team pounced on the chance to sign American defender Bryan Reynolds on a permanent basis from Italian Serie A side AS Roma.

The right-back from Fort Worth, Texas, has signed a four-year deal that will keep him at the Kempen until 2027.

Having signed on with the Roman team in 2021 for six million dollars from FC Dallas, the seven-time capped USA international found it hard to break into Jose Mourinho’s team and was sent out on loan for six months to KV Kortrijk in January 2022. In the summer he returned for another loan stint to Belgium, this time to Westerlo, for the entire season.

With the Pro League season already underway, Reynolds will hope to slot back into his starting defensive position that he held down last season, playing 34 times while scoring one and assisting on five goals. He will again team up with fellow American, Griffin Yow.
