Carter-Vickers Scores for Celtic in Scottish Cup Win Over Hearts

1 minute, 13 seconds Read

Cameron Carter-Vickers put the lid on the game for Celtic as his goal helped them to a shutout win over Hearts in their Scottish FA Cup quarterfinal clash.

Hearts 0-3 Celtic

Celtic booked their spot in the semifinals of the Scottish FA Cup in comfortable fashion as they blanked Hearts at Tynecastle Park.

Cameron Carter-Vickers was slotted once again in the center of the Hoops’ back four and went the distance.

The visitors set the tone early as they opened the scoring after two minutes. Jota’s cross to the center of the 12-yard box found Aaron Mooy and the Australian international did well to guide his left-footed strike into the back of the net.

Celtic was all business throughout the course of the game, but they had to wait until the 45th minute to score their second on the day. It was well worth the wait as Mooy played the ball to Alistair Johnston down the right side and the Canadian’s cross found Kyogo Furuhashi whose deft backheel goal got by Hearts’ goalkeeper Alexander Clark.

Hearts were no match for Celtic on this day as the visitors ran circles around them.

Then Carter-Vickers got his name on the scoresheet in the 80th minute when he beat his marker to head in a free-kick from Matthew O’Riley.

Celtic will now sit back and wait to see who their semifinal opponent will be as the other quarterfinal games will be played later.
