Chris Richards could be on the way out of German Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich this summer as it has been reported that clubs in Spain and England have expressed interest in signing the young center-back.
According to a report from CBS Sports, three of the Spanish teams, one of them being Valencia, are looking to bring him to La Liga this summer. However, it seems that English Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Southampton are ahead of the pack as they try to court the Birmingham, Alabama, native to make the move across the English Channel.
The 22-year-old is also getting interest from clubs in France and Germany.
Richards spend this past season on another loan with Hoffenheim, playing an important role with the team until injury forced him to miss the remainder of the season. He also went on to score his first Bundesliga goal in the team’s 2-1 win over Freiburg.
Southampton head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl would love to sign Richardsthe former FC Dallas man as he could shore up the backline that allowed 67 goals in their recent campaign. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, may have him playing a vital role within the team as reportedly Patrick Viera is looking to install a three-man backline.
Bayern appears willing to part ways with the 6-2 center-back if a club forks out $15.8 million.
