Haji Wright has been on a good run of form for Antalyaspor as he scored a goal to help them to a commanding win over Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Alanyaspor 1-3 Antalyaspor

Antalyaspor has their sights set on a European place and they just might get it as Haji Wright continued his goal-scoring form for the team in their win over Alanyaspor at the Bahcesehir Okullari Stadium.

Wright had a strong outing in his 90 minutes on the field, completing 62 percent of his passes and winning six duels along with his goal.

Antalyaspor entered the game with an impressive five-game winning streak (11 games unbeaten since January) and the American, who is on loan from Danish Superliga team SønderjyskE, has played a crucial role in their streak as he has scored five goals along the way.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring for the visitors in the 17th minute. Luiz Adriano headed the ball towards the striker from the corner kick, and he buried his shot into the back of the net from close range. That goal would go on to be his tenth of the season.

Gokdeniz Bayrakdar doubled Antalyaspor’s lead in the 40th minute as he collected a deflected pass from Adriano to slot his shot past Alanyaspor goalkeeper Marafona.

Antalyaspor kept their momentum going in the second half and had to thank the hosts for their third goal as a defensive lapse gave Bayrakdar the chance to put the game to bed in the 58th minute.

Alanyaspor scored a consolation goal in the 78th minute through Famara Diedhiou, but that would be it as Antalyaspor was too strong on the day.

Antalyaspor has now moved up to sixth place in the standings following their sixth consecutive win, putting them four points behind fourth place Istanbul Basaksehir for a place in the Europa Conference League Qualifiers.

Notes:

Elsewhere in the Turkish Super Lig, Tyler Boyd, who has disappeared from the U.S. men’s national team picture, played 57 minutes for Rizespor in their 1-1 draw with Kayserispor.

Down in the second-tier TFF 1. Lig, Gboly Ariyibi came off the bench to play 21 minutes as promotion-chasing Ankaragucu secured a 2-0 win over Adanaspor.
