German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim could have another American in its ranks as they are reportedly close to completing a deal with FC Dallas to sign Justin Che.
According to a report from Kerry Hau of Sport 1, the deal is set to see the 18-year-old defender head to Germany on an 18-month loan with an option to buy. This would make him the second homegrown player to leave FC Dallas after Ricardo Pepi moved to FC Augsburg earlier in the month.
It seemed that Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich had the upper hand in the race to sign Che as they had him on loan for the first half of 2021. During his time in Bavaria, he played eight games for Bayern Munich II.
However, another report states that the Texas native has grown frustrated in waiting for an offer from Bayern and is strongly looking at a move to Hoffenheim.
If Che decides to move to Hoffenheim, he will join up with Chris Richards, who is currently on loan at the club from Bayern Munich.
Che played for FC Dallas last season, appearing in 15 games and registering three assists as he featured in the right-back spot.
