It may have been a tough result to swallow for FC Augsburg, but their new striker Ricardo Pepi was more than happy to get his first Bundesliga game under his belt.

In a sideline interview after the team’s 3-1 loss to Hoffenheim, in which the 19-year-old enter the game in the 60th minute, he said it felt great to step on the field for the first time with his new team following his transfer from Major League Soccer’s FC Dallas.

“It’s tough because we lost the game but we’re trying to work and we’re trying to get ready for the next game and move on,” said Pepi.

“We had a couple of chances to take at least one point here, but the opponents were really good too,” he would later say in an interview on the FC Augsburg website. “The 30 minutes of playing time did me good, it gave me a feeling for the team and also for the league.

Pepi will be looking to get more time on the field and possibly score his first goal for Augsburg when they welcome Timothy Chandler and Eintracht Frankfurt to the WWK Arena on January 16.
