Just over a week after reporting on Owen Otasowie’s absence from his Club Brugge side, the team today released their 22-man roster for the upcoming clash against Jesse Marsch’s RB Leipzig and lo and behold, the New York City born defender’s name is on it.
After giving the former Wolverhampton Wanderer some time off to visit his family and friends back in England as he dealt with personal problems, head coach Phillipe Clement is obviously happy enough with Otasowie’s state of mind that he has made him eligible to go up against fellow American, Tyler Adams.
The big defender has yet to kick a competitive ball for Club although he has made two appearances on the bench for the team that currently sits in third place in the Pro League standings.
Having been capped once for the USMNT one year ago against Wales in Cardiff, American fans will be hoping that this will be the start of Otasowie’s FCB career in front of a home crowd at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
The Champions League game, where both teams need a positive result if they hope to continue playing in Europe next year, will get underway at 3 p.m. EST.
