A hat trick from Jesus Ferreira along with goals from Djordje Mihailovic and Bryan Reynolds led the U.S. men’s national team to rout Saint Kitts and Nevis on Wednesday night in St. Louis, Missouri, and put them atop of Group A in the Concacaf Gold Cup standings.
The U.S. men’s national team needed a convincing win to have a chance to finish above Jamaica in the group standings, and they’ve done just that. In the second match of the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup’s group stage, they thrashed the Sugar Boyz 6-0, and even then, six was too little, considering the missed opportunities.
BJ Callaghan’s squad will try to rebound from their tough Gold Cup group-stage opener on Wednesday night when they take on the group’s minnows Saint Kitts and Nevis at CityPark Stadium in St. Louis.
