English Premier League Recap: Richards, Crystal Palace Beat Robinson, Fulham

Tyler Adams returned to Bournemouth’s starting lineup, Brenden Aaronson came off the bench for Leeds United, and Chris Richards picked up the win over fellow American Antonee Robinson as the Premier League’s Americans wrapped up this weekend’s action.

Newcastle United 2 – 2 AFC Bournemouth

Tyler Adams got the start and went 76 minutes as Bournemouth let a two-goal lead slip in a 2-2 draw at Newcastle United. Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring in the ninth minute before a Malick Thiaw own goal made it 2-0. Harvey Barnes pulled one back two minutes later, and Jacob Ramsey equalized in the 88th minute. Lewis Cook replaced Adams in the 76th.

Bournemouth have two points through three matches and sit 15th in the Premier League. They host Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday before hosting Brentford next Saturday in the Premier League.

Brighton & Hove Albion 1 – 1 Leeds United

Brenden Aaronson came off the bench in the 62nd minute as Leeds United stayed unbeaten with a 1-1 draw at Brighton. Jayden Bogle put Leeds ahead in the 15th minute before Luka Vuskovic headed Brighton level in the 71st. Aaronson helped create a late chance for Lukas Nmecha, whose shot was blocked.

Leeds have five points through three matches and sit eighth in the Premier League. They host Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday before hosting Newcastle United in the Premier League on Monday, September 14.

Fulham 2 – 3 Crystal Palace

Antonee Robinson and Chris Richards both started at Craven Cottage as Crystal Palace came from behind twice to beat Fulham 3-2. Robinson played 79 minutes for Fulham, while Richards went the distance for Palace. Zavier Gozo was also in the Palace matchday squad but remained an unused substitute.

Josh King put Fulham ahead in the 11th minute, and Tyrick Mitchell equalized in the 35th. César Palacios restored Fulham’s lead before halftime, but Mitchell scored again in the 54th and substitute Ben Chilwell finished the comeback with the winner in the 77th. Palace move to three points and sit 13th, while Fulham remain without a point in 19th. Palace host Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday before Ipswich Town next Saturday; Fulham travel to Liverpool next Saturday in the Premier League.

Notes

Haji Wright remained sidelined as Coventry City lost 1-0 at Manchester City. The USMNT forward was not in the matchday squad as he continues to recover from a quad injury. Gabriel Slonina was not included in Chelsea’s matchday squad for Sunday’s Premier League match at Arsenal.
