1 minute, 58 seconds Read

All four of Middlesbrough’s American contingent saw action over the weekend as they came away with a narrow win over Queens Park Rangers, while Jack McGlynn made his debut for Stoke City in their annihilation of Charlton.

QPR 0-1 Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough moved to second place in the standings as a first-half goal proved enough for them to beat Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

Aidan Morris played the entire 90 minutes, completing 90 percent of his passes, winning seven duels, and taking two shots, while Sebastian Berhalter played 84 minutes before going out with an injury. Max Arfsten came off the bench to play 19 minutes, and Rokas Pukstas got his first minutes of the game.

The visitors grabbed the only goal of the game in the 20th minute. They could have scored more, but the QPR goalkeeper made some critical saves to keep the game close.

Boro turn their attention to the EFL Cup on Tuesday as they head to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.

Stoke City 4-0 Charlton

Stoke City put on a scintillating performance in the first half that carried them to a well-deserved win over Charlton Athletic at the Bet365 Stadium.

Jack McGlynn came off the bench to play 32 minutes, completing 93 percent passing, and putting one shot on target. Luca Bombino was among the substitutes on the bench.

The Potters scored their first after 15 minutes and then doubled the lead seven minutes later. The goals kept coming as they added a third in the 25th minute.

The game was put to bed before halftime as the hosts grabbed their fourth of the game.

Stoke head to Wales to face Cardiff City on Tuesday, while Charlie Kelman-less Charlton host QPR on Wednesday.
