Mark McKenzie was in action for Toulouse in the French Cup over the weekend as his team booked a spot in the Round of 16.
Lyon-La Duchere 1-2 Toulouse
Toulouse scored and did enough to hold on as they beat Lyon-La Duchere at Stade de Balmont.
Mark McKenzie put in a strong outing for Les Violets as he played the entire game, completing 97 percent passing, winning four duels, and making three clearances.
After a scoreless first half, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 51st minute. Emerson was on the spot to attempt at Rafik Messali’s cross from the right side, but it would end up with Yann Gboho. The shot came off the post, but the rebound hit off the Brazilian’s legs as the ball went across the goal line.
Toulouse doubled their lead five minutes later through Aron Donnum as a low pass from a free kick allowed the Norwegian to one-time his shot past the LLD goalkeeper.
The hosts were given a lifeline when the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty after a rash tackle in the area. Amir Etien stepped up and converted the spot kick in the 67th minute.
Toulouse will next face Angers in the next round on January 10, 2026.
