English Premier League Recap: Tyler Adams wins while Aaronson starts

1 minute, 33 seconds Read

There were four Yanks on the team sheets this weekend in the English Premier League and three of them started. Surprisingly, only Antonee Robinson didn’t see the field.

Bournemouth 2 – 1 Brighton

Tyler Adams picked up a yellow card en route to a home victory over Brighton.

Alex Scott got the game’s first goal through an Antoine Semenyo “assist”. Scott turned and smashed a shot left footed from outside the 18 yard box. Kaoru Mitoma equalised for Brighton just after half time in the 48th minute with a back post header.

Evanilson earned a controversial penalty kick which Semenyoo dispatched in the 61st minute.

Bournemouth are now in fourth place, and take on Newcastle next weekend.

Crystal Palace 0 – 0 Sunderland

Chris Richards started and went the distance for Crystal Palace in a frustrating scoreless draw against Sunderland.

Palace sit ninth after four games where they have gone undefeated, but have only amassed one win. Richards and company have drawn more games than any other team in the Premier League.

Up next for Palace is a League Cup match against Millwall.

Fulham 1 – 0 Leeds

Antonee Robinson versus Brenden Aaronson only saw one USMNT player see the field. Robinson never made it off the bench, while Aaronson started and went 77 minutes before being subbed off.

Aaronson had a chance but Bernd Leno was equal to the task. Gabriel Gudmundsson was the unlucky goal scorer in a fluke deflection in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

After four games, Fulham sit in 11th while Leeds sit in 16th place in the Premier League. Fulham take on Brentford next while Leeds take on Wolves.
