PSV Eindhoven’s official website has just announced that American international Sergino Dest has picked up a knee injury during the team’s Saturday training session. At this time the seriousness of the injury has not been determined but a club spokesman said that it could be for an extended period of time.
The Dutch born American has been on loan to PSV from Barcelona and he has become one of the reasons why the Farmers have been excelling on the field of play. They currently hold a nine point lead over second place Feyenoord.
The 23-year-old may have played his last game for the champions in waiting, although his loan deal does give the Dutch team the option to buy. More important to American fans will be whether or not he will be fit to make Greg Berhalter’s roster for the Copa America, which will be held in the USA starting in two months from today.
The team can clinch the title as earlly next weekend when they take on 10th place Heerenveen, on the road.
