English Premier League Recap: Ream and Robinson edge Wolves

2 minutes, 50 seconds Read

Media went wild after Monday’s controversial game between Fulham and Wolves that saw three penalties given in a 3-2 thriller, with Antonee Robinson and Tim Ream going the distance. The weekend also saw Auston Trusty and Luca Koleosho earn starts. That, along with video highlights, below.

Fulham 3 – 2 Wolves

Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson went the distance in Fulham’s narrow win over Wolves at home.

Robinson provided the opening assist to Alex Iwobi in just the seventh minute. A lovely interchange saw the American fullback sprinting into the box to find Iwobi alone in the middle for a solid finish.

Matheus Cunha leveled in the 22nd minute with a penalty kick. Fulham were given a lifeline in the 59th minute with a penalty kick, converted by Willian.

Hee-Chan Hwang was shown equal fortune, converting a 75th minute spot kick to tie the game up. With the match destined for a draw, Fulham controversially awarded Fulham another penalty kick, with Willian stepping up to dispatch the game winning goal.

Fulham now sit level with Wolves on 15 points, sitting in 14th place, 10 points clear of the relegation zone. Up next for the American duo, a trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

Burnley 1 – 2 West Ham

Luca Koleosho went 81 minutes in Burnley’s narrow loss at home to West Ham.

The American left the field with a 1-0 lead thanks to a Jay Rodriguez 49th minute penalty, a foul that the American himself drew. Koleosho looked the brightest spot in the attack, having an earlier penalty decision declined. The first half, and much of the game, was Burnley dominated.

To preserve legs, Koleosho was brought off, but Dara O’Shea’s 86th minute own goal gave West Ham a lifeline. Enter Tomas Soucek who scored a back post finish to steal all three points.

The result keeps Burnley in 20th place, but will look to pick up points off of Sheffield United on Saturday.

Sheffield United 1 – 3 Bournemouth

Auston Trusty went the distance for Sheffield United who were thumped at home by Bournemouth. Tyler Adams is still out injured and did not feature for the visitors.

Marcus Tavernier scored on either side of a Justin Kluivert goal at the stroke of half time. Tavernier’s first goal came in the 12th minute, wrong footing Trusty to get free to tuck a cool finish away after dispossessing the United goalkeeper. Kluivert’s goal, following in his fathers footsteps, was tucked away three minutes into added time at the end of the first half.

Tavernier put the game to bed in the 51st minute after a clever back post run. Ollie McBurnie scored at the end of the game, in the seventh minute of added time, but it was too little too late.

Sheffield United sit on the edge of the Relegation Zone looking up at 17th placed Luton Town, four points adrift. They have an opportunity to earn points on Saturday against basement dwellers Burnley.
