England Premier League Recap: Turner Dropped while Ream and Robinson faced Manchester United

2 minutes, 37 seconds Read

USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner was dropped from the Nottingham Forest lineup (his replacement subsequently kept a clean sheet), while Auston Trusty went the distance in a major Sheffield United win. Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson faced off against Premier League giants Manchester United. That, along with video recaps, below.

Fulham 0 – 1 Manchester United

Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson went the distance for Fulham, who will feel hard done by with the result against Manchester United.

Scott McTominay thought he got United off to a dream start, only for Alejandro Garnacho to have been ruled offside in the build up. The game was even enough, with half chances going either direction en route to full time.

In the first minute of extra time, Bruno Fernandes popped up with the game winner from the edge of the box. Robinson was stripped of possession wide, and Ream’s clearance hit his compatriot. Failing to clear their lines, Fernandes took his shot to win the game.

Fulham sit in 15th place, well above the risk of dipping into the relegation zone. Next up is a trip to Aston Villa.

Burnley 0 – 2 Crystal Palace

Luca Koleosho went 78 minutes for Burnley, with Chris Richards being subbed in at the dying minutes for Crystal Palace.

Jeffrey Schlupp scored in the 22nd minute, making the most from a quick turn over. Jordan Ayew snatched the ball down the right flank, with Schlupp tapping in at the back post. Koleosho had a golden chance, but was thwarted by a sliding tackle.

Koleosho nearly created another chance, but the effort rolled wide of the Palace goal. His 74th minute shot was smashed over the crossbar. Tyrick Mitchell scored in the fourth minute of added time to kill the game off. Palace capitalized on a quick turn over, quickly finding a shot to win the game.

Burnley stay rooted in 19th place, and travel to take on Arsenal next. Crystal Palace sit in 10th and take on Everton next.

Sheffield United 2 – 1 Wolves

Auston Trusty was on the field as Sheffield United earned their first Premier League win since being promoted.

Cameron Archer scored what could have been the game winner in the 72nd minute. A turnover in midfield let the pacy player through, and a rocket of a shot ricocheted off of the crossbar, down and in.

Wolves fought to get back in the game, Jeanricner Bellegarde scoring a curling effort in the 89th minute to give the visitors a chance. It wasn’t meant to be, however, as Ollie Norwood converted a 100th minute penalty kick.

The three points weren’t enough to get Sheffield United off the bottom of the Premier League Table, just shy of Burnley on Goal Difference. They hope to continue to earn points on Sunday against Brighton.
