Alex Mighten Joins Kortrijk On Loan from Nottingham Forest

Alex Mighten will take his services to Belgium’s Pro League for the season as Nottingham Forest has decided to send him on loan to KV Kortrijk.

It’s hoped that the move will give the 21-year-old a chance to get some much-needed playing time, something the English Premier League side could not guarantee this season. However, the former European champions still remain highly invested in the winger.

Born in Connecticut, Mighten came through Nottingham Forest’s academy before signing his first professional contract. He would go on to make his debut for the team in September 2019 in a 5-0 loss to Arsenal in the EFL Cup. He would go on to make further appearances as the team pushed for a return to the English top flight.

Last season, the dual national would be sent on a season-long loan to Sheffield Wednesday in League One. It would be a frustrating experience for him as he only appeared in 14 games and scored two goals as he played out of position. His loan to the Owls ended abruptly in January 2023.

Mighten could make his debut for the Guys after the international break when they welcome Anderlecht to the Guldensporenstadion on September 17.
