Any speculation of Antonee Robinson making a move in the summer was put to be on Friday as English Premier League side Fulham announced that he signed a new long-term deal that will keep him in London until 2028.

The 25-year-old had been receiving interest from a number of teams, with the likes of Manchester City and AC Milan reportedly chasing to sign him. However, he ultimately decided that remaining with the Cottagers was the best option.

“To the fans who have stuck by me, supported me ever since I’ve been at this Club, it’s been one hell of a ride, Robinson said when speaking with FFCtv. “Some ups, some downs, especially off the back of last season, I just want to thank you for your massive support. “I’m going to repay that support with a lot of hard work to improve myself, and continue to grow as a team

The Milton Keynes-born defender joined Fulham from Wigan Athletic in August 2020. Since that time he has become an integral part of the team. Last season, he went on to play in 35 games as they finished in 10th place in the Premier League standings.

Robinson was not the only one to be delighted with signing a new contract.

“I’m so glad to announce that Antonee (Jedi) Robinson has extended his contract with Fulham,” the team’s vice-chairman Tony Khan said. “Following one of the best Premier League seasons in the history of Fulham Football Club, it’s very exciting to confirm that Jedi will be with us for years to come.

“Since his arrival in 2020, he’s been a very important part of the Fulham squad. He’s a tenacious defender and a remarkable athlete, with great pace that serves us well up and down the pitch, through his hard work in defense and the great service he provides to our attack.

“It’s great news tonight for all of us at Fulham, and for all of the club’s supporters, that we’ve extended his contract!”

Robinson and Fulham are currently in the United States on a pre-season tour along with five other Premier League teams.
