Christian Ramirez’s time at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen could be near its end as reports have surfaced that he could be on his way back to Major League Soccer.
According to a report from Aberdeen Live (via Pro Soccer Wire), the 31-year-old is receiving interest from the Columbus Crew and San Jose Earthquakes, with the Eastern Conference team leading the pack to sign the forward.
Ramirez would sign with the Dons in June 2021 and become the first-choice striker under former coach Stephen Glass. In his debut season, he would go on to score 10 goals as the team finished in 10th place in the league.
However, he has played a bit part this season as new coach Jim Goodwin has elected to go with the pair of Bojan Miovski and Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes this season, leaving the former Minnesota United star struggling to earn minutes. So far this season, he has played only 179 minutes in league play and 292 minutes in cup competition, scoring three goals in the process.
Aberdeen currently sits in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership standings.
