U.S. Under-17 Women’s Youth National Team head coach Natalia Astrain has announced her 20-player roster for the 2022 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship, set for April 23-May 8 in the Dominican Republic.

The U.S. will be looking to secure one of three spots to the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup as they attempt to win its third-straight CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship after the 2020 tournament was cancelled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. They won the last two editions of the tournament in 2016 and 2018.

“We have a talented group of players and good depth on this roster,” said Astrain in a statement from U.S. Soccer. “Our coaching staff is excited to help guide these young players through this valuable experience in international competition as they navigate the format of these World Cup qualifying tournaments. We’ll prepare for each game one at a time as we progress toward our goals and I know we are all going to learn a lot during our time in the Dominican Republic.

The U-17s will kick off the tournament on April 23 against Grenada, followed by Puerto Rico on April 25 and wrap up the group stage against Costa Rica April 27.
