Scottish Cup Draw: Yank v. Yank Old Firm Derby for Semifinal

Monday night’s Scottish Cup semifinal draw set up the inevitable Old Firm derby, with James Cameron Carter-Vickers and Celtic set to host James Sands and Rangers.

Rangers, Celtic, and Hibernian all won in the quarterfinals of the Scottish Cup which means James Sands, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Chris Mueller will likely feature in mid-April’s semifinal, respectively.

The Scottish Cup quarterfinals saw 14 goals, two clean sheets, and one red card as the business end of the competition looms. It was a straightforward affair for Cameron Carter-Vickers/Celtic, and James Sands/Rangers, each winning 3-0 with over Dundee United and Dundee, respectively.

The two will face off in what is sure to be a scintillating Old Firm derby, Scottish Cup edition, in Celtic Park.

Chris Muller began the game on the sub’s bench for Hibernian but was brought into the game just nine minutes in, and then was subbed out with 15 to play in Hibernian’s 2-1 win over Motherwell. Hibs will visit Hearts, who won 4-2 over St. Mirren.

Games are set to be played during the long Easter weekend, either April 17 or 18.

Highlights for the quarterfinal games involving Americans can be found below. The final will be guaranteed to have at least one Yank on the roster, with the winner of the Old Firm set to be the heavy favorites to go on to lift the trophy in the May 21 final.
