RB Leipzig Put Caden Clark Transfer on Hold

Caden Clark will have to wait a bit longer for his move to German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig as the club has reportedly decided to loan him back to the New York Red Bulls.

According to a report from Bild, Leipzig will have the 18-year-old remain with the Major League Soccer team for the first half of the 2022 season. The decision was made in light of Germany’s fight to contain a recent spike in COVID-19 cases.

Clark would make his first-team debut for the Red Bulls in October 2020 when he scored the lone goal in a 1-0 won over Atlanta United. In total, he’s played 31 games and scored six goals.

The Minnesotan’s performances in MLS caught the attention of Leipzig, leading them to complete a transfer with their partner club in June 2021.
