Tyler Adams could be on his way to the English Premier League as reports suggest that Manchester United have now set their sights on the midfielder after ending their pursuit of another player.
According to a report, Manchester United head coach Ralf Rangnick had shown interest in signing Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier as he looks to upgrade their options at right-back. Fellow English Premier League side Newcastle United have also expressed interest in bringing the Englishman back from Spain.
However, it now appears that the Red Devils have turned their attention to Tyler Adams.
In a report from The Athletic (via the UK Daily Star), United assistant Chris Armas appears to have convinced Rangnick to pursue the 22-year-old American based on his versatility as he can play in the midfield as well as right-back.
Although the report does not indicate whether United would pursue Adams in either the January or summer transfer window, the club would have to shell out some cash as he has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Leipzig.
Manchester United is not the only club to apparently have interest in the former New York Red Bulls man as it was reported last month that Arsenal was ready to put in a bid for Adams.
So far this season, Adams has played 20 games in all competitions for the Bundesliga side.
