It looks like Barcelona and Liverpool could be battling for the signature of Christian Pulisic as speculation becomes rife about Chelsea’s possible decision to sell the player in the next transfer window.
According to a report from El Nacional on Tuesday, both clubs are interested in the winger, but the defending Champions League winners prefer he moves to the Catalan side rather than join a rival in the English Premier League.
It was over a week ago when news came out that Barcelona showed interest in bringing Pulisic to the Camp Nou as their new head coach Xavi apparently has a wish list of players that he would like to bring to bolster the squad. However, a loan would be their only option as they have no funds to go in for a transfer.
Liverpool has an advantage in the race as their coach, Jurgen Klopp, worked with the 23-year-old while they were at Borussia Dortmund. In El Nacional’s report, it says the German coach was interested in signing Pulisic back in 2019 but was beat out by Chelsea.
Apparently, Chelsea has set their price at $50 million for any club that wants to negotiate a move for Pulisic.
The Pennsylvania native has only recently returned to the Chelsea first team after sitting out for weeks due to an ankle injury suffered during international duty in September.
