English Recap: Fulham continue winning ways

1 minute, 46 seconds Read

Captain Tim Ream returned for the Cottagers’ victory while Lynden Gooch helped Sunderland secure all the points in English action.

Fulham 3 – 0 Stoke City

Fulham captain Tim Ream was back in action with Antonee Robinson as Fulham cruised past Stoke City at home.

Harry Wilson got the home team off to a dream start with a goal in the fifth minute, assisted by Fulham hero Aleksandar Mitrovic. Ream almost scored in the 39th minute, but missed from close range.

Bobby Reid and Mitrovic both added goals in the second half to round out the scoring. It could have been four, but Mitrovic missed a penalty in added time to spare Stoke blushes.

Next up for Fulham is a Saturday trip to Blackpool in more Championship action.

Sunderland 3 -1 Wycombe Wanderers

Lynden Gooch got an assist in Sunderland’s home win over Wycombe Wanderers in League One.

The scoring started in the 14th minute through Ross Stewart with a header from an Elliot Embleton cross. Gooch helped double the lead with his assist coming just four minutes later to Embleton with a shot from outside the box.

Stewart capped off the scoring for Sunderland with an 83rd minute goal. Wycombe pegged one back with a goal in stoppage time, but it was too little too late.

Sunderland will be at home against Accrington Stanley on Saturday in more League One action.
