Eight Americans in Europa League draw

The draw for the group stages of the UEFA Europa League took place Friday afternoon in Istanbul, Turkey and eight teams with American interests were involved.

Two groups will pit Yanks against each other.  Timothy Chandler and his Frankfurt side will go up against Sam Vines and Royal Antwerp in Group D, while Konrad de la Fuente and Olympique de Marseille will face DeAndre Yedlin and Galatasaray in Group E.

The group stages of the competition will get underway September 16 and conclude on December 9.  After the knockout stages, the final will be contested on May 18 at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in Sevilla, Spain.

Here are all the groups and teams:

Group A:  Lyon, Glasgow Rangers, Sparta Prague, Brøndby (Christian Cappis)

Group B:  Monaco, PSV Eindhoven (Richard Ledezma), Real Sociedad, Strum Graz

Group C:  Napoli, Leicester City, Spartak Moscow, Legia Warsaw

Group D:  Olympiacos, Frankfurt (Tim Chandler), Fenerbahçe, Royal Antwerp (Sam Vines)

Group E:  Lazio, Lokomotiv Moscow, Marseille (Konrad de la Fuente), Galatasaray (DeAndre Yedlin)

Group F:  Braga,  Red Star Belgrade, Ludogorets, Midtjylland

Group G:  Bayer Leverkusen, Celtic, Real Betis, Ferencváros (Henry Wingo)

Group H:  Dinamo Zagreb, Genk (Mark McKenzie), West Ham United, Rapid Vienna
