Europa League & Conference League Recap: Adams scores in Bournemouth win, Tessmann assist against Matarazzo

The Europa League Matchday 4 took place on November 5th and featured many American involvement, with Tyler Adams’ goal being the highlight of the day.

Sparta Praha 1-3 AFC Bournemouth

The Cherries turned the game around in the second half to clinch second place in the table.

Tyler Adams started on the bench but was brought on right before the second half began. The New Yorker scored in the 57th minute. He also completed 95 % of his passes and had recorded 5 defensive contributions.

Ebrima Singhateh scored first for the Czechs in the 35th minute after a wonderful dribble.

In the second half, Marco Rose’s men turned things around. Adams scored first, and the Brazilian duo of Evanilson and Rayan sealed the win in the final minutes.

Bournemouth will fly to Spain next to face off Celta de Vigo.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen 0-1 Olympique Marseille

Malik Tillman and Timothy Weah faced each other on this fourth matchday of the Europa League, although the former was not part of the starting XI.

Timothy Weah captained his team and started as a winger for the first time in a while, having adapted to the full-back position. Weah went the distance but had a rather quiet game, failing to complete any of his dribbles and registering no shots on target. However, he was more involved in defensive actions.

Malik Tillman was subbed on in the 79th minute, as was Montrell Culbreath, who made his first appearance of the season.

Amine Gouiri scored the only goal of the game.

Olympique Marseille earned their first points and will host Levski Sofia next. Bayer Leverkusen dropped to 7th place and will travel to the Croatian capital to play Dinamo Zagreb on November 26th.

Real Sociedad 1-1 Olympique Lyonnais

Tanner Tessmann played the whole game and provided the assist for his team’s goal against Pellegrino Matarazzo‘s Real Sociedad.

Orri Óskarsson opened the scoring for the hosts in the 28th minute with a great header.

Corentin Tolisso equalized after receiving Tessmann’s pass.

Matarazzo’s guys drop to 20th place and will play Chris Richards’ Crystal Palace next. Tessmann and Lyon will host Lillestrom.
