American midfielder Taner Dogan will remain in the Cymru Premier after signing with newly promoted Holywell Town ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The 28-year-old arrived after spending half a season with Bala Town after he moved there in January to help out the Bala midfield. The club however, could not hold on to their top-flight status and after relegation the Harvard grad went seeking opportunities elsewhere.
A native of St Louis, Dogan sought out new opportunities in Europe with contact being made with clubs in a couple of different countries during the summer, but when the opportunity arose to stay put in Great Britian with Holywell Town, he didn’t hesitate to take the deal.
With an Ivy League degree, the dual national has been carving out a career for himself in Europe since graduating with an economics degree. He began his professional career in the Republic of Ireland, followed by a move to England and then Wales as he built a reputation as a reliable central midfielder.
Holywell will begin its top of the Welsh soccer pyramid adventure on the 1st of August when they travel to the Welsh capital to take on Cardiff Met FC.
