Johnny Cardoso and Atletico Madrid was in a battle against city rivals Real Madrid, but they came up short in the end to suffer a derby defeat.

Real Madrid fought back against a determined Atletico Madrid to take all three points in the end at a highly tense game at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Johnny Cardoso started and played 57 minutes for Los Rojiblancos, completing 93 percent passing, winning two duels, making two recoveries, and committing four fouls.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Ademola Lookman followed in a backheel pass from Giuliano Simeone to tuck the ball into the back of the net.
The second half saw Real level the score in the 52nd minute when Vinicius Junior put away a spot kick after a rough tackle in the 18-yard box. Federico Valverde gave them the lead three minutes later when some poor passing from Atletico allowed him to pounce and deliver his shot into the goal.
Atleti tied things up in the 66th minute through Nahuel Molina as his long-range strike beat goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
However, Los Blancos had the last word of the game in the 72nd minute when Vinicius’ curler from the left side of the area sealed the win.
Atletico Madrid sits in fourth place in the standings with 57 points.
