Not a bad weekend as Bryan Reynold’s got on the score board and Jamath Shoffner continues to watch his team club up the Challenger League standings.
Westerlo 4 – 0 Anderlecht
It was a result that nobody would have expected as Westerlo, who started the weekend out in a relegation spot, welcomed les Mauves from Anderlecht to Het Kuipje and from the kick off, started dismantling the most successful team in the nation.
Bryan Reynolds started in his usual left back spot and hit the back of the net, while Griffin Yow only got a few minutes off the bench in this game that the Anderlecht head coach, Besnik Hasi said, “In the end, we have to be happy with 4-0, because Westerlo could score even more.”
Before a minute was played, Westerlo charged down field and Arthur Piedfort took a chance, struck the ball in the middle of the box and slipped it past Colin Coosemans, forcing the Belgian keeper to pick the ball out of the back of his net for the first time in the game.
The visitors seemed to have steadied their leaky ship after the goal but in the 34th minute, Allahyar Sayyadmanesh got on the end of Nacho Ferri’s cross into the box and nodded it past Coosemans. It was the Iranian international’s first goal of the night. His second came 10 minutes later from the penalty spot
Down 3-0 at the intermission, Hasi made three changes to start the second half but they had little impact as the Gamecocks extended their lead when Reynolds scored his first goal of the season in the 57th minute from the middle of the box.
The much needed three points leaves KVC in the 11th spot with a visit to 8th place Genk up next.

Marlon Fossey is still rehabilitating so missed Standard Liege’s 2-1 win over Cercle Brugge over the weekend. Les Rouches, in the 6th spot, will host OH Leuven next.
Devon De Corte did not take part in Anderlecht Futures two all draw against local team Molenbeek.
Jamath Shoffner’s Lierse side came away 2-1 winners at home after the Genk Reserves missed a penalty and then scored a late own goal to help the American’s team move up to 9th place with their third win in a row.
