In what is considered opening weekend for the 2025-26 season across Europe’s top leagues, a few high profile names may not feature. Here’s the latest status on some of the US Men’s National Team players who have been dealing with injuries.
Ricardo Pepi
OUT. Will miss Saturday’s match versus FC Twente. PSV manager Peter Bosz confirmed that Pepi is having fluid drained from his knee. After scoring two goals in a preseason friendly against FC Eindhoven and also featuring off the bench in PSV’s dramatic Johan Cruyff Shield victory, Pepi missed the season opener versus Sparta Rotterdam last week.
Christian Pulisic
PROBABLE. Pulisic has made a full recovery from his pre-season ankle issue and has returned to full training with AC Milan. He is expected to be available for the upcoming Coppa Italia match versus Bari–although it’s unclear whether Allegri will choose to play him against the Serie B side.
Antonee Robinson
OUT. Robinson will miss the start of the Premier League season due to a right knee injury. Recovery has been slower than anticipated following a minor surgery in May, and he’s not expected to be available for Fulham’s opening Premier League match versus Brighton. He is expected to return ‘soon’.
Folarin Balogun
DOUBTFUL. Balogun has recovered from the shoulder injury that kept him out for a good portion of the 2024-25 season. However, a minor calf injury may keep him out of Monaco’s opening day squad versus Le Havre. Monaco manager Adi Hütter expects Balogun to be at 100% for next week’s match versus Lille.
Patrick Agyemang
OUT. “Big Pat” is still out for Derby County in the English Championship, following a Summer hernia surgery. Agyemang is excited to have joined Derby, calling the team ‘the real deal.’
Kevin Paredes
OUT: After missing nearly all of last season, Paredes underwent successful foot surgery and is expected to miss an extended period with German Bundesliga club Wolfburg. Paredes will be out for the time being.
Daryl Dike
OUT. Dike recently suffered a setback in practice and is expected to miss the first few weeks with a thigh injury. He previously had both left and right Achilles torn, followed by another thigh injury. Dike, who has missed extended playing time since joining English Championship side West Brom in early 2022, is set to resume training in early September.
