Sargent is in red-hot form, scoring the winning goal for the Canaries today in their 2-1 victory over Portsmouth. Sargent got to the ball first for a header off a long throw-in, scoring what proved to be the game-winner.
This is already Sargent’s third goal of the season, having previously scored last week versus Millwall, as well as in a mid-week Carabao Cup victory over Watford.
Sargent was left off of this Summer’s USMNT Gold Cup roster for ‘footballing reasons’ according to Mauricio Pochettino. He’s also turned down transfers to the Bundesliga and clubs elsewhere, saying his family is settled and happy in England. Sargent was also named captain for Norwich City this season.
