Kahveh Zahiroleslam’s absence was noticed this afternoon at the Limburg Derby when KRC Genk arrived at the Stayen to take on Sint Truiden in this game that ended two goals apiece.

Down by six goals to none last Saturday night against Belgian champions, Club Brugge, the former Yale Bulldog was subbed into the game in the 59th minute only to leave the field a couple of minutes later.

“He played as a substitute in Brugge the last game and when he came in he had two nice individual actions (on the ball) but (immediately) got injured. It was a torn muscle,” STVV Press Officer Bert Stas, told Yanks Abroad. “The estimation is that he will be out six to eight weeks.”

The California native started the season off on a high, scoring three goals in two games in August but since then has been unable to find the back of the net in his 13 appearances.

“There is a winter break right after the new year so we will hope to have him back when the second round starts in the new year”

Realistically, the American would look to return to the field in late January when the Canaries host Royal Antwerp on the 25th of the month. STVV currently sits in 12th place in the 16 team Pro League.
