Fulham captain Tim Ream will have surgery on his broken right arm on Wednesday, the team announced in a statement on Tuesday.

The news comes after the center-back left the game early on Sunday in their 2-1 loss to Manchester City at Craven Cottage. He would leave the game in a makeshift sling.

Speaking at press conference ahead of their game against Liverpool, Fulham head coach Marco Silva confirmed that Ream would unavailable for the rest of their Premier League campaign. It is expected that he will return in time for the pre-season.

Ream has been one of Fulham’s biggest surprises in their remarkable season, starting all 33 of the team’s Premier League games prior to the injury, while scoring his first-ever top-flight goal. This led to his return to the USMNT, where he started all four of the team’s games in Qatar.

The injury to the U.S. international will also most likely see him not play for his country in either the Concacaf Nations League or Gold Cup.
