English Premier League side Manchester United has had a nightmare summer transfer window and now it appears that they will be going all out to sign reinforcements, with Christian Pulisic reportedly being one of the names on their list.
The Red Devils came out of the gate stumbling as two consecutive losses have them sitting at the bottom of the standings. What’s worse, head coach Erik ten Hag has not been able to sign the players he wants as he looks to rebuild the team that has been a shadow of itself since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson. The Dutchman has seen moves for Frenkie de Jong, Marko Arnautovic, and Adrien Rabiot collapse recently.
Now, with two weeks left in the transfer window, United are working hard to sign the necessary players to help them right the ship.
One of United’s targets appears to be the 23-year-old American who is looking to get more playing time ahead of the World Cup in November. According to reports, he is one of the options being looked at for a possible short-term loan.
The move would make sense for Pulisic as he has found playing time hard to come by since Thomas Tuchel took over the team in 2020. So far in the new season, he has made two appearances off the bench, adding up to about 30 minutes. With the likes of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, and Raheem Sterling ahead of him, he will struggle for playing time. In addition, he would find it more of a challenge to get on the field as the West London club continue to pursue more attacking players while the transfer window remains open.
While the Pennsylvania native may be open to a move away from Stamford Bridge, Chelesea may not be so keen letting the player go to a league rival.
If the teams come to an agreement, Pulisic will link up once again with Jadon Sancho as they were teammates at Borussia Dortmund.
